DAY 1- November 1st

Updated: Nov 28, 2018

During the first day of our Wumpus Project, we didn't get much production value out of the team. At the beginning of our time together, Professor Bram talked us through what the Wumpus Project was and what we would need to achieve in the coming weeks. However, most of our time was spent looking at the Lego Mindstorms pieces and sensors and seeing how each of them worked.

Mike Naclerio soon began assembling a rough start to our robot using two motors and attached wheels so that our robot would be able to move around. Mike and I then brainstormed some some ideas about what to do with the rest of the design of our robot, and what would be the most effective way to build the robot in order to complete our task.

Zach Alexander began working on ideas for how to program the robot and got to programming. He came up with an idea to use binary code (1's and 0's) to decide where in our Wumpus grid there were spaces that were safe to move to and spaces that were unsafe (1's would be used for unsafe areas and 0's would be for safe ones).

Mike Gulia started creating this website for the journey of our Wumpus Project. The first thing he started with was making a "Staff Members" page which we appropriately named, "The Gang's All Here". Mike added pictures and short biographical information to each of our names.

At the very end of the day, Professor Bram asked us what we would name our robot, and for some reason we named it Handlebar Jim. Thus we came up with a final design touch for when we finished building Handlebar Jim, we would give him a Handlebar mustache.
